What is GOTS?

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

Who Needs GOTS?

Any business in the textile supply chain wishing to sell organic textiles — from spinners and weavers to dyers, finishers and garment makers — must be GOTS certified to label their products as organic.

GOTS Requirements

• Minimum 70% certified organic natural fibres
• Prohibited substances list for processing chemicals
• Wastewater treatment requirements
• Social criteria including ILO conventions
• Chain-of-custody documentation throughout production
